The default value for the file size limit is 50000000 bytes.

The default value for the file size limit is 50000000 bytes.

This issue occurs because a security change that was introduced in Windows XP SP2 affects the Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV) redirector. This security change makes sure that an unauthorized server cannot force a client computer into a denial of service attack. If you try to download a file that is larger than 50000000 bytes, the client computer interprets this download as a denial of service attack. Therefore, the download process stops.

To fix it install the following

Or to fix it your self

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
  2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WebClient\Parameters

  3. In the right pane, right-click the FileSizeLimitInBytes value, and then click Modify.

If you cannot see the FileSizeLimitInBytes value, right-click the blank space in the right pane, click New, click DWORD Value, type FileSizeLimitInBytes, and then click OK.

  4. In the Edit DWORD Value box, click to select the Decimal option. In the box under Value data, type a value that is larger than the size of the file that you want to download. Click OK.
Note The default value for the file size limit is 50000000 bytes.
  5. Quit Registry Editor. Restart the computer.

How to convert hexa to decimal

The errorcode does indeed confirm that at least from the CSE’s point of view the drivercan’t be downloaded. If you take the last four hexadecimal digits (the firstfour are just indicating the provider), convert that to decimal, then punch itinto the following command, you can see as much:

Conversion:0x0BCB = 3019
Command: nethelpmsg 3019
Output: Thespecified printer driver was not found on the system and needs to bedownloaded.

I know that’snot offering a massive insight into why it’s happening, but I figured it stillmay be worth clarifying which track to pursue.

Cheers,
Lain

Event ID: 10016 Source: DistributedCOM, how to know the APPID corresponds to

Event ID: 10016
Source: DistributedCOM
Description:
The application-specific permission settings donot grant Local Launch permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{24FF4FDC-1D9F-4195-8C79-0DA39248FF48}
 and APPID
{B292921D-AF50-400C-9B75-0C57A7F29BA1}
to the user NT AUTHORITYSYSTEM SID(S-1-5-18) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC). This security permission can bemodified using the Component Services administrative tool.
APPID{B292921D-AF50-400C-9B75-0C57A7F29BA1} corresponds to the DCOM NAP AgentService, which in turn is part of the Network Access Protection Agentservice.
Search the Registryfor the CLSID to determine what product is calling the NAP Agent ServiceAPPID.  In this case the CLSID is the Quarantine Private SHA Bindingclass, which is a Kaspersky Anti-virus product.
By default the serviceNetwork Access Protection Agent is stopped and the Start Type is set toManual.
Cause:
The DCOM error isbeing generated because the application’s SHA encryption module is trying toregister with the NAP Agent even when NAP is not enabled.  Severalapplications are known not to verify the NAP Agent is running before attemptingto register themselves.
Solution:
Method 1
This DCOM error can beignored if you don’t use NAP in your current environment.
Method 2
Enable the NetworkAccess Protection Agent
Method 3
Contact the vendor ofthe software trying to register with the NAP Agent to see if they have releaseda fix for this issue

Forefront Security and MOSS ( Exception from HRESULT: 0x80041050)

This one took some time to weed out, but found that the Forefront Scan Engine had incorrectly flagged my welcome page in my Site Directory to VirusStatus=1 and was causing an Exception from HRESULT: 0x80041050 error.

Solution:

  1. Open your SQL Server Management Studio and go to the Content Database where your default welcome page is returing the error (Usually WSS_Content_[someguid]).
  2. Create a new query and run:
    select *
    from AllDocs
where (VirusStatus > 0) and (VirusStatus is not null)
  3. If you get any results this is your issue!  (Given that you don’t actually have some virus in that file.)
  4. Run the next query:
    update AllDocs
    set VirusStatus = null
where (VirusStatus > 0) and (VirusStatus is not null)
